Ancient Egypt Medicine

The Ancient Egyptians were known to have the earliest medical profession. Their medical profession includes medicines and also spells that were believed to shoo away the bad spirits that caused the illnesses. The medical care of Ancient Egypt unlike the other civilizations were unique due to how they treated their patients and what kinds of medical care they used. First of all, it was said that during Ancient Egypt, the chance of you getting better from an illness was quite high. It was due to the doctors; they kept careful records and made sure that they used the best methods possible. They understood what diets were used for the illness and they were skillful at fixing broken bones. Second of all, doctors used wooden splints bound with plant fibers to set broken bones. They tend to wounds with oil and honey. They performed surgery with knives, forceps, and metal or wooden probes. Lastly, they used plant remedies a lot for many kinds of illnesses/wounds. Garlic was used for snakebites and to gargle for sore throats. They also used garlic to soothe bruises. So overall, the Egyptians during Ancient Egypt were smart, very careful and were very advanced in medical profession due to what objects they used, how they used them, and how they treated their patients.
